Artistic Instagram Paint Chips - Socialmatic Announces A Branding Deal With Polaroid

See Your Favorite Food Combos as Artistic Instagram Paint Chips

Instagram Food Combos

By now, Instagram is a well-known purveyor of food porn, subjecting social-network users to endless streams of filtered fare. But one artist is taking a unique approach to foodstagram by pairing your favorite food combinations in the same way a home decorator would match paint chips.

There's milk and cookies, peanut butter and jelly, and bread and butter, among other duos. You can see them all in the gallery, above.

Minneapolis-based designer David Schwen posted the images on his Instagramaccount with the hashtag, #pantonepairings, referencing a company best known for its color standardization system, the Pantone Matching System.

A new company called Socialmatic announced a branding deal with Polaroid to create a Instagram-esque camera that instantly prints photos.

Instagram's great. But have you ever wondered what it would be like to experience it outside the digital world? Snap a photo, select a filter and then — not tweet it, but — print it out to physically share? A new company calledSocialmatic is hoping to make it a reality.

We've seen this cool design before, but now Socialmatic announced a branding deal with Polaroid for an Instagram-esque camera that lets you add filters to and instantly print your photos.

It's important to note that this is not affiliated with Instagram — it just uses a similar, filtered concept.

The device, which is still in its concept stage, dispenses photos from a built-inZink printer — similar to a regular Polaroid camera. It additionally includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips, a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a custom operating system that syncs to both Instagram and Facebook apps.

The official press release says product design and other details are still in development. The launch is planned for 2014.

Watch the video above to learn more. Does this sound like something you'd use?
